We are Finally Open!!!!

Taking almost 7 weeks to becoming officially open, (due to a fire inspection) we are excited to have the doors open and helping our loyal customers again! We are still working out some small things but overall our new store is working out great. The new store has a mezzanine, with road bikes and a fit studio. The both sales and service are both located on the same floor.


We are very thrilled to have a brand new fitting system called Retul. Retul is an 3D motion capture cycling specific fitting system. Retul incorporates three-dimensional measurement, immediate report capability, and a millimeter-specific digitizing tool to provide the most accurate dynamic fitting solution in the industry. A proper bike fit is an essential for optimal performance and efficiency, injury prevention, and comfort on the bike. A proper bike fit will not only provide you with the most economic means of expending energy, but will also prevent pain that is common in the knee, hip, and lower back, particularly with riders who are trying to adapt their bodies to the bike they already have purchased. Retül reads your movements while riding on the bike, and accounts for all three planes of movement (3D). This type of data cannot accurately be captured with 2D video, static fitting, or eyeball fitting. Retül eliminates the guesswork and assumptive nature of bike fit. Concluding that you will have a true fit to your bike, maximizing efficiency and performance while avoiding discomfort or injury. Our new location gives us the ability to host many clinics and events. We have many ideas in mind and are working on upcoming events. Any ideas are welcome too.


With the lack of many Long Island based cycling teams, we now have a Home bread team, The Bicycle Racing Team. We consist of 11 riders, which range from the ages of 18-52. We are very excited to start racing this season as the Bicycle Planet Racing Team!!

Cervelos are here!!!!

Come by to our brand new store and check out the full line of cervelos we just got in!!!

So many new things are happening- I don't know where to start. We at The Bicycle Planet are getting ready for the big move to our new location at 300 Robbins Lane, Syosset (across from the Lifetime Fitness building). We should be settling in there by the end of October. The new location has a pretty open lay out, and a great new fully equipped fit studio. We have some great ideas for new and exciting events and programs at the new store... too many to list!
Before we say good-bye to the original location, we are having a great ladies cycling clinic (see website: http://thebicycleplanet.com/). Representatives from Giant, Polar, and Powerbar will be here and it should be a great time- come on down and check it out!
In terms of clinics and classes, we will be having quite a few educational opportunities when we get to the new store. We will be offering monthly basic mechanical clinics, a triathlon 101 clinic, fitness and training clinics, and much more. Make sure you check the website for updates, or stop by the store!
We are also going to be carrying a whole lot of triathlon gear to suit your multisport needs. Winter training- no problem! We have all of the pool toys, cycling trainers, and warm running gear that you need to stay on task. And if you just want to get out of town for a little one-on-one time with your bike we can pack it up in one of our rental cases and send it to your destination.
